The biggest surprise in this clock is the amount of metal in it.  The body of the clock is brass-plated aluminum but the plate is thick enough that you generally find these in good shape.  (Contrast the Informer.  I like everything about this design except the brown back and plastic crystal.  Interestingly, the G.E./Telechron logo is etched into the crystal, molded into the back but not printed anywhere.  You'll notice the dial on mine above differs quite some from the b&w publicity photo the dealers got.
